Final Equation

Let's solve the final equation for an average maintained footcandle level. Our equation is Footcandles = Lumens x Coefficient of Utilization x Light Loss Factor all divided by Area.

Footcandles =

Lumens x CU x LLF

Area

and solving for the Number of Fixtures gives the formula of

Footcandles times Area divided by the result of lumens per lamp times number of lamps times x Coefficient of Utilization times Light Loss Factor.

Number of Fixtures =

Footcandles x Area
Lumen/Lamp x #Lamps/Fix x CU x LLF
